RE: Did you guys know
It's exceptionally addictive, the best way I can spin it for you is: If you've ever had fun playing around with a Lego Technic set at any point in your life, this is definitely the sandbox game for you.
Though this should be taken with the knowledge that the game is still in its alpha state and is thus feature incomplete, for example there's absolutely no objectives other than freely building space planes or rockets and coming up with your own set of challenges. I've been playing the game for some months now and only last week managed to get the knowledge necessary to design a rocket, strap a remote controlled rover on it, fly it to the nearest planet (Which is equivalent to Mars), parachute the thing and get my guys back home safely.
The game is simple enough that anyone can just jump in, bolt 29 rocket engines on something in the design building and just have fun building the most ludicrous thing possible. But also complex and deep enough to allow for people to accurately determine how much fuel they need versus how much tonnage they're hauling, find exact angles of approach and angles of planetary exit using mathematical formulae, calculate the exact time you need to launch in order to get the best fuel efficiency and learn the meaning of fancy new terms such as apoapsis, ?V, antinormal and eccentricity. Things got complex enough that I had to take a quick refresher in algebra, as well as go out and buy a protractor so I could hold it up to my screen as I measured angles in the solar system map.
It's not without flaws, one of the biggest selling points of this game is its modding support, which is excellent and there's a ton of awesome user made content available. This does come with the caveat that the game is currently not well optimized and will end up crashing to desktop if you overdo it with the mods and run into the game engine's 32 bit memory cap. It also simulates physics on every single bit of your designs so if you end up building a gargantuan space station, the frame rate is gonna tank. I had to abandon working on some projects gigantic multistage projects because it was getting to the point of being unplayable.
I've never uploaded any "serious" KSP videos to YT, just me building the silliest things I can think of and overall just horsing around. When I'm actually playing the game seriously, I'll usually upload screenshots of whatever self imposed milestone I've hit during that session to my Steam page.

So nutshell: Great game for the inventive individual, though still incomplete.
