Honestly, TLOU was wearing a bit thin towards the end gameplay-wise. At that point I was just plowing through it just to get to the next bit of story exposition. You're not gonna miss a whole lot by watching a long play on Youtube.

The reason DayZ blew up the way it did was because it was the first and only thing like it at the time. It's built on top of a rickety, 6 year old engine with a terrible animation system, clunky feeling movement code and one of the most hacker friendly server environments yet people still played it in droves.

If you've got a 360, there's a "So janky, it's good" kind of game on XBLA called State Of Decay, it's pretty much a single player version of DayZ.
