I didn't say anything about being religious, i said something about being a creationist.
in this context, creationist means that you believe the earth is less than ten thousand years old, was created in six days, and every living thing on it was created in their present state in those six days.
this is a dangerous wold view because it contradicts hundreds of things in your day to day life that have been so thoroughly proven that you accept them as a given.
Believing in evolution does not make you an atheist.
The Pope is NOT a creationist.
The Pope IS an evolutionist.
Believing that God is ultimately responsible, in some way, for the creation of the universe, does not, in this context, necessarily make you a creationist.
Being a creationist makes you an idiot.
