35% isn't "nearly half", nor is it significantly higher than the 25 to 30% you pay now. Contrary proven.
Also, YOUR taxes WOULD be lower if people like YOU didn't complain about progressive income taxes.
A better rant would have gone like this:
"Man, i just got done doing my taxes and i only get about $2,600 back. I wish i could get back the portions of my historically low taxes that were spent on killing innocent people, That would sure make the old return a bit larger."
