Actually, when I filled out my application, in tax status I wrote exempt (lol) in a little experiment I was doing. Well, I was never exempt, but instead HR taxed me as if I was claiming 6 or so. I also would rather have them take less money so that it could sit in an account that actually accumulates interest (not that there was enough in there to make a difference). So, I don't get taxed too heavily per pay check, except when it comes to state where I get under-taxed. This year, I owe the state around $450.
When I looked back at how much was taken in federal taxes from my pay, the $2600 wasn't too bad. The guy that does my taxes is an ex-IRS employee. He doesn't do any phony baloney either.
