In Cold Blood is very good. Capote claimed it was a new genre. I'm not sure about that, but whatever -- I'll go with it. The two movies about how he researched it are as interesting as the book, mainly because you get to imagine Harper Lee schlepping around in Kansas with this flamboyantly effeminate little New York whacko.
