If you need a tablet-y computer thing-a-ma-jig there's quite a few more practical transmorphing Win8 tablets that turn into proper laptops. They might not be nearly as thin or light-weight as a Surface Pro sans keyboard, but if weight is your biggest concern you should probably be going with a 7" device anyway.
