Eventually, the books take on more continuity, especially when F&G encounter their arch-enemy Thanquol, a mighty Skaven gray seer. The relationship develops into something reminiscent of the one between Inspector Clouseau and Chief Inspector Dreyfus. Thanquol becomes obsessive and paranoid, devoting all his crazed being to the destruction of F&G. Our heroes, meanwhile, remain mostly unaware of his interventions.
