RE: So AMC is making a Preacher series...
I loved Preacher. It was painful to see how many times it almost made it to the screen only to die in pre-production hell. That being said, an AMC mini-series is about as close as you're going to get to them somewhat being able to pull it off (a film could never capture all of the fucked up awesomeness of the entire story).
I don't know enough about Seth Rogan as a producer to know if it's a good or bad thing. I know as an actor I can take him or leave him. That said, he seems like just the right amount of stoner to actually fight for the story to be left somewhat in tact.
Though there are a LOT of things that just flat out won't work on screen without some tweaking. What are you supposed to do with shit like a giant gunslinging corpse who takes over for Death, or a retarded inbred child that the Catholics have been guarding to preserve the bloodline of Jesus, or an Irish alcoholic Vampire, or a man who fucks giant meat statues, or... do you get the point?
