god damn treasure trove of information, especially on history
you can now download every shred of information wikipedia hosts and read it locally
the main article DB without any pictures is 10gb, this should at least be picked up a long with a simple reader like bzreader, which reads from the compressed archive and builds an index for the package.
but i would definitely recommend that you use Xowa to read all wiki dumps. it is much nicer
main site images/thumbnails that are preferably formatted for use in xowa will run about 87GB
and the large full sized images from wikipedia commons will run you about 1.5-2 TB
well worth purchasing a new hard drive just for this
