why archery as a player skill is worthless:
sure its fun as fuck,
but perhaps the most important aspect of the game is being able to break or defend a siege wall. this requires you to be up close and personal and overhead swinging a 2h weapon that can crush through blocks.
you can pretty much eliminate any siege hole on offense with crossbowmen, but you will never be able to rack in huge amounts of renown and exp you get from defending a siege hole while hundreds of men are just pouring onto your mace.
literally, you can defend a castle against 700+ waves with just 40 high-tier/top-tier melee fighters.
you need this exp. you cant really play the game without it.
no way will you ever be able to export your character on another new playthrough anytime soon while being a faggy archer.
i think renown is capped at 50, i may be wrong, but you get extreme amounts whenever you are outmatched 4 to 1, or 5 to 1
which is also very important
