Excellent.

I put up some screenshots of my stats, party composition, etc. You can see that I'm going about things very differently, not being aware of the multiple playthrough technique. My points are more evenly dispersed, so I am by no means an in-your-face siege finisher. I prefer to use archery and riding in most situations, though I can plunk at things with a sword fairly effectively.

I must say, if I start over, I would adopt many of your ideas, especially the one about relying more on companions for various skills/attributes. I always have the same three companions -- Lizalit, Dishavi, and Jeremus -- and recently I've thrown in Katrin as a pure trade booster. In this capacity, she works well. I haven't had much trouble with money in the late game, owing to her and other things like investments.

I have neither the aptitude nor interest for world domination, so I always stop at about three castles and two towns -- this is almost more than I can manage and prefer less real estate. I'm content being the uber warlord for my faction, though this always results in a late-game unresolvable stalemate among three kingdoms for some reason. That's where I am now. It doesn't appear that any of us is going to sue for peace, so this will go on and on.

I spend most of my time patrolling, defending villages, and waiting for the inevitable great host to attack Dhirim, which I rather stupidly accepted from my king. Dhirim, as you know, is a siege magnet, and its surrounding villages are constant sack targets. So I may start over.

Interesting write-up. Food for thought.
