Also, if I'm going to keep playing these silly games, I guess I need a vidya card upgrade eventually. I never thought my HD6790 would get long in the tooth, but apparently the Xbone and PS4 have changed things. Also, crappy optimization. If I can put aside some money, I might look into the R9 290, which seems to be a better buy than the 290X. Since I don't exceed 1080p, I would probably see decent gains with midrange cards. On the other hand, I need a treadmill for bad weather days. Could also use some dental work.
