well as far as rulership, winning the people was a mixture of things
but my point is, originally, more than just wealth was used to convey the rightfulness to rule to the people
of course things changed down the line, but even so, that part of winning the crowd was always something special
there are huge gaps missing on how romans used to do this
there are more than a few special events or creations which are lost to history. perhaps buried under russia somewhere in that damn library
