come to think of it 300 seems like the average 'epic super huge' battle size in the ancient world
realistically, those 300 of sparta were probably outmatched, but not anywhere near those hollywood numbers
much closer to 2:1 or 3:1
the sources from history are fucked on multiple levels
first you have whats written by the victors, then you have whats been translated by whats written by the victors
then you have whats pretentious
