In related news, I've been trying to improve my demon hunter. Sadly, there's not much I can do until I make him my main and put a lot of hours into him. He's all right for Torment 1 and 2, but no higher. I've thrown a lot of crafting and money at him, but I just don't have the right pieces to get him beyond about 540k dps with any survivability. The problem is that I don't like the DH as well as the wiz. When you can set the whole world on fire with a wiz, the DH's plunk-plunk-plunk-turret-plunk-plunk-turret-escape-plunk-plunk is just boring.
As I was upgrading this guy, I spent 30 million gold on flawless royal emeralds, including the one in his socketed bow. Didn't help all that much. The good news is that I have one of those legendary gems that gives you a 25% chance to make monsters asplode gold all over the place. So I can make that money back with a couple of rifts.
Pro tip: it's all right to spend prodigious amounts of gold, but don't get below 34 million. This is verging on poverty. I always stop when I get around this level because I consider 30 million equivalent to the emergency $20 bill you keep in your shoe.
