Yes, e-billing seems like a good thing until something like that happens. I have three accounts with autopay (because reasons) and the rest I do by snail mail. It's worth the cost of a stamp and the check-writing time just to know that I have tangible paperwork going back and forth. Companies hate this, of course. They all want everybody to do autopay/e-billing so they can eventually fire the clerical help in the middle. The more they can do to make you the clerical staff, the more they like it.
