Much like Fallout 2's Navarro run for early power armor to make the whole first half of the game trivial. People were crying for a patch to remove this but were then told that this wasn't an exploit, it was an intentional design choice.
New Vegas also had these sorts of content skips built right in, and yes, I also loved them.
