People don't understand how fast even the most entry-level CPU is. Much depends on the pathing between storage to RAM to CPU and back. If your software is efficient and understands caching, the CPU polices things faster. Simple as that.
A correlation is an efficient web page on an efficient server vs. a heavily scripted monetizing kitchen-sink web page on a mediocre server. Do you blame your AOL for the bad web page? Only if you're not a pro surfer.
Pros don't cry about their AOLs when consumerist.com takes forever to load. They give up. True pros give up frequently.
