My barb is now functional in T6.
Thankfully, I found all the pieces for Wrath of the Wastes, which emphasizes Whirlwind and Rend. Because of the set bonuses to both skills, the barbarian becomes a food processor. Wrath of the Wastes really amps up the damage of Whirlwind. With six pieces, you're trailed by twisters that absolutely chew up mobs. When you run into elites, you bust out Rend for profound bleed damage. It also helps to have Furnace cubed for 50% added damage to elites. (By the way, I was wrong about cubed items not being pan-account. If a character cubes something, it is available to all other classes on the account. My wiz found a Furnace mace, cubed it, and now melts elites. Imagine my surprise when I saw the Furnace perk available in the cube for my barb.)
In T6 solo, elites are a joke. So are rift guardians. Normal mobs are murder victims.
All this without legendary gems. If I can find a good pair of Focus/Restraint or something like Convention of Elements or maybe even another Stone of Jordan, and if I gem those up, I don't even want to think about what's going to happen to those monsters. The cruelty is too much to bear.
