Subject: RE: Wizard report (with news about my Barbarian)

With minimal effort and not so minimal expense, I was able to "craft" a Focus/Restraint ring set for the barb.

A so-so Focus dropped from a monster, so I went to town and spent my Kadala shards trying to get a Restraint. Not surprisingly, I got a bunch of rares.

In the past, I would have grumpily gone over to the blacksmith and salvaged them. But now with Kanai's Cube, I had a bunch of base rings I could use to make a Restraint. I just had to use the Cube's upgrade-rare thing and spend some of my otherwise useless mats (reusable parts, arcane dust, death's breath, veiled crystals).

I got a Restraint pretty early. Like the Focus, it had a socket but otherwise crappy stats.

But instead of salvaging the rings, I took them over to the mystic and got the stats I wanted. This was the only part of the process that took a long time and ran into expense. I spent millions to supply her with imperial gems before I finally got workable crit chance/crit dmg stats on both rings.

Then I put Pain Enhancer and that life-regen Gizzard gem in the sockets. Thanks to the Cube, I could still use Ring of Royal Grandeur.

The difference was, let us say, dramatic. T6 became so ridiculous that I could not see a good reason to stay there. So I went to T7 and felt comfortable. I'll still drop back to T6 to do bounties, especially the ones for Acts 4 and 5. Shadow wizards in the Diablo fight can still be nasty in T6. Chances of fatality in the Malthael T6 fight are 50/50.

My wizard would still kick the barb's ass, but not so easily now.
