Probably because your assimilation is complete.
Unless you have a laptop or a big honking computer that eats a lot of kilowatts, I wouldn't worry about power-saving mode. Most home desktops don't use enough power to make a huge difference whether they're on or off.
On my work-at-home desktop, which I leave on 24/7, I disable all that power-saving stuff except monitor blanking, which is set for two hours.
My gaming computer eats more power, so I leave it off until I want to use it. Concerns about cold starts causing early failure are mostly overblown with today's sturdier parts.
I should probably turn off power-saving mode on my laptop since I hardly ever turn it on. When I do, I have it plugged in 99% of the time.
