Last night, I was playing my barbarian and thinking that Diablo 3 had pretty much hit a dead end. It's the same thing over and over. The main excitement is accumulating gobs of crafting mats to see what you can get in the Cube.
And right at the moment I was thinking of quitting, I heard a goblin. My Pavlovian response impelled me to chase it. What I thought was another ho-hum craft-mat goblin turned out to be a whole party. I think there were about 15 of them. I was giggling like an idiot, chasing them all over the map, kiting five or six groups of elites and simultaneously spawning the rift guardian. Didn't matter. I ignored everything until every last goblin was dead. The entire map was strewn with crap -- mats, gold, multiple legendaries, and a couple of set items.
Blizzard is the most insidious company in the world.
