yeah, weapon damage and physical damage just never stops scaling
a new higher base weapon type, such as that awesome halberd i have pictured seems to come by every 5-10 levels, then it is combined with all my physical damage bonuses.
all the chaos/acid and elemental spells seem to have base stats which can only scale by item bonuses, which is a huge handicap
