RE: How come Grim Dawn needs UPnP enabled?
Wait. So elemental damage only scales with items? In other words, spirit and cunning don't contribute to base character damage -- only physique? In short, there will come a time when it's almost useless to be anything except a hulking soldier who can get up close to enemies and deal physical damage? I'm surely misunderstanding something. If that's correct, it would be a horrible class and game-mechanics decision on Crate's part -- we're talking epic dumbaassery here.
Now granted, in Diablo 3, there are classes that can go further than others in very high Greater Rift tiers, but that's so rarified and beyond end-end-game that you should probably quit and do something else. The notion that a barbarian can get to GR90 but a wizard can only get to GR84 doesn't mean that the wizard is broken (though she really is for other reasons). It just means that you're at a place in the game's atmosphere that the designers didn't bother to explore because -- let's face it -- why are you there? Do you realize how crazy you are if you're doing GR90? Get a job. Get a life. At least take a bath.
Anyway, back to this problem. If physical damage is the only type that increases independent of items, do you see how colossal a mistake like that would be? I'm not saying you're wrong. I haven't bothered to look into this. I'm just saying that this would be one of the worst design decisions of all time.
