but now that i think about it, wow was popular for a brief moment.
when it first released it flew off the shelves, i remember this because i was basically forced to choose one game for a gift, this was probably during christmas, and i remember all the shelves filled with copies of everquest2 because wow had been sold out.
but honestly blizzard has been pretending its game has been a smash hit ever since. it probably got addicted to this day-one popularity, and has been feeding this false egotistical image onto itself and onto the others across the internet, at whatever cost. even if it means producing crappy games, ruining the core concepts of what briefly made it popular, producing crappy content-- producing more crappy games, etc. you get the idea.
diablo3 may be fun now, but only after releasing a substantial cheap product in another attempt to lower everyone's standards (as they did with the entire gaming market, because of their lies and filth) and although i will give credit to some of the diablo3 gameplay, there are still many issues which need to be resolved. d3 is good, but its nothing like diablo2, which is older than shit and somehow remains better.
and there is still the issue of starcraft 2, which is another entire piece of shit game with half assed shitting content and gameplay
