You probably just need to ditch that Gigabitch motherboard you got. My setup is speedy as hell. Are you sure you know what you're doing with whatever benchmark you're running?
16 cores would be pretty nice though. I'm sure you're going to get ECC ram, since that's really the only reason for using a xeon. And you probably don't care that the PCIx bus is shit on pretty much all server motherboards. But yeah, seeing all those extra cores idle in your resource monitor really sounds like it's worth the effort.
