Watchmen
I went and saw it today, and I'm of two minds about it. As an adaptation of the comic, it's shockingly faithful. As far as I can remember (been a while since I read the comic), the movie doesn't depart from the source in any major detail until the very end.
As a movie, though, it leaves quite a bit to be desired, chiefly in the realm of editing. Its three-hour running time could have been cut by a good 45 minutes; excising Dr. Manhattan's origin-story monologue sequence would not have detracted from the story, nor (IMO) would cutting Rorschach's imprisonment and jailbreak. The director got so caught up in making the Watchmen movie that he forgot he was making a movie.
