Even though I never played the mp in RtCW, I knew that Quake 3 was superior. RtCW didn't have little floating bright-colored blocks representing different kinds of ammo. This use of symbolic relation was far in advance of anything RtCW could hope to achieve. Also, the bounce pads and space maps in Q3 outclassed anything in RtCW. This alone advanced the FPS genre by years.
