Mcafee is antivirus that acts like a virus. You have to uninstall it like you would any other program. Then Windows will ask if you want to use Defender.
Goto this page for instructions on how to uninstall, but be prepared. Programs like Mcafee and Nortons do not like to be uninstalled because they are basically viruses themselves.

About half way down the page there is a link to an actual Mcafee uninstaller just in case the program wont let you uninstall regularly.
