oh, almost forgot,
these games are really designed to play with a gamepad.
most PC gamers don't understand this. it is perhaps the most crucial piece missing.

there is an added difficulty which requires more concentration.
even when you are a master with the gamepad, this additional needed concentration still exists. it's an entirely different method of controlling your character, which is no way as intuitive as the keyboard and mouse, but somehow is better.
the primitive, handicapped controls pair perfectly with the simplistic gameplay of these types of games, really. you only need to execute quick directional movements and button combinations, just like in the witcher 3 or dark souls. really cant imagine anyone playing these games with a KB/M
you are able to execute more maneuvers with less effort at the expense of precision. and believe me, you can let percision go. its ok 'PC gamers' you can cope with this loss.
events which require percision such as archery in skyrim are absolutely PERFECT for novice gamepad users. i cannot possibly think of any better application to familiarize yourself for gamepads. one of the best moments i ever had in gaming was crudely aiming my rickety bow with gamepad for the first time. it's so pathetic and difficult that at actually mimics real archery and is fun.
