I saw Suicide Squad on HBO the other night. I fail to see why reviewers trashed it and yet praise every Marvel Avengers and X-Men thing that drivels out of Stan Lee's orifices.
Suicide Squad = silly, noisy action movie from perspective of comic book "bad guys," with overloaded plot, absurd villain, and too many effects.
Marvel movies = silly, noisy action movies with multiple overloaded plots, villains spawned in the minds of eleven-year-old kids residing in the bodies of millennial arrested development cases, and far too many effects. Bonus features: lingering "relationship" scenes involving unrequited love, internecine tiffs, shallow lessons about diversity, and various hair colors.
Marvel movies do not have Margot Robbie (hubba hubba), who absolutely owns Harley Quinn.
tldr: Suicide Squad is no dumber than the never-ending spate of overrated Marvel superhero trash. Reviewers fail at critical thinking.
