I know you're talking about Nord history and vampires and wolf queens, but you mentioned General Tullius, and I felt justified in going off on the civil war, which would not be happening if everyone suddenly developed a case of critical thinking and saw Ulfric for what he is -- a pawn, a wrench in the works, some tribal tool manipulated by the CIA/MI6/KGB elves. He is no William Wallace. There is no blatantly visible Longshanks. The game makes it quite clear that this is all espionage, which is much more interesting than dragons.
