Speaking of relationships, critical hits are your friends. When you attack an enemy in [HIDDEN] state, you get a guaranteed critical.
Also, I hate traps in games. One of the main things I remember about New Vegas is how many floor traps I kept setting off until I got the Light Step perk. That was helpful.
