I feel obliged to re-emphasize the family-friendly part. I give you my solemn pledge that delicate sensibilities will in no way be offended by steamboat mannerisms or expressions like "swell" or "not on your kidney plaster" or "that's a lot of mustache wax." I should point out that an interpretive dance will be performed by Glenda of the Orient, but she will be fully obscured by ostrich fans. She has explained to me that this is in the interest of decency and art. She was also disappointed about the absence of refreshments, which gives us double cause to hope for the ladies' contributions.
In every respect, I anticipate a gala of supreme merit, but attendees are reminded that my article is the feature attraction.
