and the lassen volcanic NP is amazing
the park is a national park because of its scenic views, not because of the volcanic activity.
10ft walls of snow in califnornia in late july,
lush glacier lake, flowing meadows and trees and rocky mountains. but etched in just the perfect way.
this scenic area is compact, but definitely the best i have seen. it similar to glacier national park, but looks much better, but is nowhere near as large. the great looks are in a condensed space.
national parks are just the governments excuse to charge you 25$ just to look at land, and the price was definitely worth it here. top top, world class land
also im sure the volcanic activity is unique in some way.
that sulfur pool is the highest i have ever seen geothermal activity, at around 10k ft.
usually happens much lower
