ford nailed it on this generation of truck.
i can really go on and on about literally everything which makes it great.
ontop of this robust cooling system, which starts at the radiator/block/ports which in itself are beefy, this engine has a CPU driven limp mode, an overheating failsafe which may also be the first of its kind to appear at the consumer level. come to think about it, this truck carries more than a few ghosts from heavy industry.
everything about it is overengineered. yet this truck does not have the respect it deserves. many more of this generation of trucks (1997-2003) are on the road than any other vehicle, including totyota.
the body design, the aesthetics, are terrible. it carries a "new" streamlined look which totally does not match the actual design underneath the hood.
its funny how great this vehicle is, and yet nobody knows shit about it. it makes me feel special.
