And it's about here that we get the usual objections that the PC is fine, it's fine, nothing to see here, doing well, etc.

The only reason the PC is "doing fine" is that it continues to evolve as a component-driven platform. People still use PCs because they can upgrade them and get superior graphics. But look at the games they're playing. You can call them "multi-platform" or "cross-platform" all you want, but they're console games. Nothing of any importance is happening in the PC market except Nvidia and AMD spamming their usual overpriced cards with incremental changes. That's it. The cards are still running console games.

Microsoft is to blame for this. You can thank them for every kid on Steam forums asking if they can play Console Port #752 with a controller.
