well, specifically, this mame came during the early 90s when all the chinese or japanese or whatever asian manufactures were plastering all these DOHC badges and marketing fluff
i guess GM, ferd and chrystler were still producing some pushrod engines in sedan type vehicles at the time
this brief stupid period really is where this meme comes from.
but the reality is, i would 10000% prefer pushrod engines being produced in trucks today. there is no reason to hate pushrods for large engines.
smaller engines are OK because, you know, they dont actually do any work
