I was just stating some facts to put a perspective on something you've put emotionally derived blinders on for. I actually really like the GT. It's one of the purest of the current supercars with good looks and a lot of attention to detail. I'm not sure if it would outrun Ferrari's, McLaren's, or Porsche's top car, but so what? Ford made an excellent car, just like they did with the previous GT.
Pushrod engines have plenty of benefits, and don't necessarily lack the ability to make power, if Corvettes, Vipers, and pretty much every dragster are any indication. But things like variable valve timing become really tricky if you only have 1 cam. If pushrod engines were really better in in ways that are important to most manufacturers, that's what they'd be using, but they're not.
