Subject: RE: Back to M&B Warband

Did I say buying and selling are improving steadily? What I meant was that they were improving steadily until I joined the Vaegir faction and went on a campaign with Boyar Nadela. This guy single-handedly deprived me of my bandit-bashing routine, which I did not appreciate until I started getting into fights with big armies. I now spend as much time running away from armies as I do fighting them, which takes a toll on income. I think another tipping point was the magic number 60. Once my company reached this number, they started eating everything in sight. Long story short: my income is barely keeping pace with my outgo. I need another source of money. I'm looking at investing in a guild business, but I'll need to spend about 10,000 denari, which I can't spare right now.

The good news is that I've captured two enemy lords. One or both could escape at any moment, but there's hope that I'll get decent ransoms for them. Also, I realize that these are the lean times, the salad days before I become a great force in the land. I'm not that worried. I just need to resist buying anything except smoked fish and bread loaves.
