Alien visit and transcending privilege
ok well this is going to sound batshit stupid but im going to say it anyway because i can.
starting in the late 90s or early 2000s when we moved to the place we live in now, there used to be this random helicopter which would come out from the depths, from nowhere, and come directly to me and shine its light on me in the middle of the night. it would happen at the park which is right near my house.
the first time it happened i was obviously shocked, but i was so sure it would happen again because i knew what was going on. it's hard to explain, but when you are actually out there in the dead of night and you can see what is going on, then you would understand the situation better. like how this giant machine is there specifically for you.
so directly after the first time this happened, i told my friend about it the next day, infact i forced him to come. even though it only happened once, i was sure it would happen again. and sure enough, it did.
it was about 1am, we were playing on the swing set, and sure enough the same exact thing happened again.
the noise, from a distance, a low rumble pierces the background noise of the 101 freeway, but the rumble is directly focused on you. yes you can feel the noise is reserved for you.
and this machine just came straight to us out of nowhere, shined light on us and circled the park for some time as we hid under a giant tree scared as shit, as teenagers.
ok, so fast forward almost 20 years later, and im at this park, but things are different now.
first let me explain this park to you.
it is a wonderful area. i always take it for granted because its so close, ive been here so long, that im used to it. but when you really know los angeles, you can start to understand how this park area is very special. its my own personal kings forest at night. infact, this whole neighborhood is. me and my dog own it.
the park is filled with these massive trees, they have been here for ages. larger than anything else within the city that i know of. the oaks have been there over several hundred years at least. closer to a thousand.
the area is also situated in a special place, between river channels and flood plains,
a small portion of the park gives open to overlook the 101 freeway, and this area provides a well presented view, especially at night.
the land seems it has never been developed, beyond its original plowing by horse during the mid 19th century to produce some kind of crop.
sometimes wildlife will descend from the nearby hills just to visit this area, they have to cross a mile of real urban city to do so late at night. typically coyote, but sometimes deer. some rare birds also nest within the baseball fields, they harbor within the fenced area of the diamond. this is very very uncommon for anywhere in LA outside the original area these animals came. this is deep into city territory here.
