Update on the gamez
Fortnite is consuming any free time I have for gaming. It's casual and arcade feel makes it a lot more approachable than PUBG and I don't think I've gone back to PUBG since. Making it to top 10 on most games but still only have a few #1 wins as I suck at sniping and most of the final 10 comes down to a game of brute force vs hide-and-snipe.
The Witcher 3 I need to get back into. Stopped shortly after I hunted down some random woman who ended up being a Werewolf. I love the production value and story of the game but the gameplay isn't that great to me. A needlessly complicated combination of crafting and alchemy that requires endless looting to achieve, all to aid in a combat system that's fairly clunky and repetitive isn't really that much fun. I assume the people who rave about this game are the ones who enjoy the lore and storytelling and that's where it ends.
It's been a decade since I've taken fighting games seriously so I preordered DB FighterZ which launches Friday. Having played the open Beta, it falls alongside other Arc System Works games and appears to respect button mashers equally to more hardcore players looking for depth. I will probably suck but these days any game I can jump into for 30 minutes and then continue my day job is far more appealing than the rest.
Nothing else in 2018 looks that great. Sea of Thieves looks like a 3 week Meme Making Machine before it'd get stale. Far Cry 5 is apparently coming out but having not played the series I don't know much about it. Not that it matters since I can only really dedicate a few hours a week towards it anyways.
