Subject: RE: Warband Update Thread 2

I made the mistake of adding Nizar to my group a few days ago. I thought he would adjust to the other NPCs' levels, but he started at level 3 or something. He'll never catch up. Oh well, he's pretty harmless, and it's amusing to outfit a new guy. Klethi remains the standout in my group. She could easily kill a group of 20 bandits by herself.

In other news, the Swadians have a truce with us, but the Rhodoks renewed their aggressions. They have a superb marshal who has been going around taking back Yalen, Praven, and Uxkahl. Naturally, I have enterprises in all those towns, and there's no hope of dislodging Rhodoks once they garrison a place -- well, not without huge losses. I'll just have to wait for peace.

Before the Swadians made peace, King Harlaus besieged Khudan all by himself. He had 469 people in his party. I tried to deal with him on the field, but even my 80 knights were spanked by his seasoned army. I probably could have won, but my party would have been in tatters, and I was taking a lot of damage. Luckily, our marshal Boyar Vlan responded to the siege, but even his campaign group wouldn't face that bunch on the field. He wisely waited until the king actually started the siege and then defended from the battlements. I joined in, and we were able to win. We kept Khudan, but many of our villages were looted.

I don't know what I'm going to do. The Saranids declared war. I think the Khergits did too, but I can't remember. Peace in our time is unlikely. Meanwhile, my weekly budget is in the red. Instead of collecting additional money, I'm having to pay out about 200 denars a week. I only have something like 220,000 denars and make about 2500 a week from bandits. At this rate . . . oh wait. I'm doing just fine.

Still, it irks me that those cities were lost.
