I took another look at my budget. I have dyeworks in ten towns. For some reason, I thought it would be a good idea to have an ironworks in Curaw. I have Ambean village, as well as Kelredan and Radoghir castles. In short, I have a huge amount of passive money coming in every week.
In spite of this, my net change is either in the red or some absurd two-figure amount. At first, I thought it was due to tax inefficiency, but this is a minor penalty. The culprit is my army. I travel with 80 knights, which costs me about 3500 denars. My two garrisons are about 270+, mostly high-level or top-tier people. One castle has over 90 Vaegir Marksmen. Ultimately, my outgo each week is around 7000 denars. I have 7 points in Leadership and increase Charisma every time I level, but it's slow.
This is tense. We're talking serious knife-edge economy here. I've already replaced my mercenaries, but I may have to lay off some regulars. I refuse to do it the week of Christmas. That's the kind of guy I am.
