RE: Warband Sitrep 4
King Harlaus somehow lost about 250 men. Maybe this happened when he besieged Uxkhal. Anyway, I beat him. Here's how it happened.
The Swadians wereall down to dinky little parties cowering inside Uxkhal or Suno. I found sport in camping in front of both cities, daring them to come out. On occasion, King Harlaus would enter one of the cities under cover of darkness so I couldn't see him. I knew he was there because one of the dinky parties would emerge aggressively and try to trap me.
So I went over to Praven and got as many guys as I could -- lots of high-tier infantry to go with my knights. I went back to Uxkhal right about when King Harlaus and the boys were going out for their nightly village-looting spree. I maneuvered until only the tiniest parties could join King Harlaus when he rode up and challenged me. The enemy count was about 630. I had about 140 men. This I could maybe do.
And I went about doing it. I had some losses, but I made up for them with the king's prisoners. So now he was out of the picture. All I needed was an appointment to marshal so I could go on a rampage, cleaning out the Swadian infestation in Vaegir territories.
Lo! King Yargolek appointed me marshal. And lo! I discovered that the Vaegir army was doo-doo. Like the Swadians, they had somehow been reduced to pathetic party numbers and low-quality troops.
We (meaning mostly I) took Uxkhal back, and now we will do our best to retrieve some of the less well-garrisoned castles.
It's strange how things in this game can change in an instant.
