I'll defend consoles to the day I die for the following reasons:
1.) Even playing field for everyone. No higher/lower FPS than your opponents. No weird ass hacks/cheats/etc.
2.) Console controllers are flat out better than mouse and keyboard for some genres. The obvious argument will always come down to FPS being shit shows of a mess compared to mouse, but fighting games, racing games, platformers, and in some rare cases 3rd person action games just feel better on the pad. Granted, you can buy a pad for your PC so this is probably moot.
3.) Practicality. I have a giant TV screen in nearly every main room of the house but really only have one work/office area. And surprise, I use that for work. Double surprise, when I'm done with work I want to be as far as fuck away from that area as I can be. You can try building a rig next to your 70" flatscreen to play your PC games from, sure... but this assumes you don't have a wife.
4.) Necro will ultimately find you on Steam and attempt to communicate with you via a myriad of different racial slurs. On console, however, there is no Necro to be found.
