Of course, they like us because of our blood.
They are engaged in a bit of curiosity themselves. They see a ton of nutrients and are trying to decide if they could potentially harvest from us. It still peaks their interest even though they don't have any capacity for it.
They know we are giant, yet they don't fly away in response to our actions. They are not threatened by us.
