not to be confused, the acid pools are durations of direct damage types, not duration attacks in themselves, there is a difference here

however, any duration attack on you, regardless of the duration type, will count in proccing the life leech acid pools
there is a 1.7 sec recharge on the pools, so it basically drops one pool every 1.7secs
and each pool has a duration of 6 secs

yes its silly how duration attacks work in this game,
each damage type has a duration based counterpart (burning damage is the duration type of fire damage) but there are also skills which do the direct damage (fire) over a period of time...
the direct damage types will all stack, all fire attacks will be their own thing and hit at their own time. however the burning damage will not stack, whichever does the most burning damage will take over and use the properties of that single source
