Also I have no allegiance to this franchise but I imagine too many people would lose their minds if they did anything different or too drastic.
Which is a shame since they already perfected the formula with FO3, polished it with New Vegas, then started running it into the ground with FO4 unless you count the changes to gunplay and the settlement mini-game as reinventing the formula.
